February 28, 2008 The decision made by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines not to seek President Arroyo’s resignation drew mixed reactions from the religious community as some of clergymen disagreed with the resolution issued following the CBCP's emergency meeting Tuesday.

Members of the Philippine Medial Association (PMA) and Heal the Nation Interfaith Council (HNIC) comprised of different religious groups and congregations said it is time now to heal all wounds of the past and start anew through physical and spiritual rejuvenation. |

At a press conference held during the NewsStand breakfast forum at the Ambassador Hotel in Ermita, Manila, officers and members of the Philippine Medical Association (PMA) and Heal the Nation Interfaith Council (HTNIC) made the call as a way of finally ending the country’s crisis. |
